Branch Governing Structure

The ZIE UK Branch is managed by a Branch Committee annually elected into office by the Members. The Branch Committee is, where possible, representative of the various disciplines of engineering and technology. The Branch Committee reports to the ZIE Board through the Learned Society and Membership Services Board of the Institution

The Branch has since its formation established six Regions in the UK and Ireland namely Southern, Midlands. Yorkshire, North West, Scotland and Ireland. It has also established Special Interest Groups (SIGs) representing the various sectors of engineering and these are equivalent to the divisions in Zimbabwe. The SIGs established so far include Water, Railways, Transportation, Structures, Project Management, ICT and Energy.

The branch activities consist of two committee meetings, two branch meetings and one Annual General Meeting per year. Each region is encouraged to have at least a meeting before each branch meeting and members of SIGs are encouraged to present papers at the Branch meetings.
